Ingredients
1 ball of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup ricotta cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Zest of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
Salt, to taste
Cornmeal or flour (for dusting)
Instructions
-
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats. Line a baking sheet with parchment or dust a pizza peel with cornmeal.
-
Prepare the Dough: Roll or stretch the pizza dough into a 10–12 inch round on a floured surface. Transfer to your prepared baking surface.
-
Mix Ricotta Base: In a small bowl, stir together the ricotta, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, black pepper, and a pinch of salt.
-
Assemble the Pizza: Brush the dough lightly with olive oil. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if using.
-
Bake: Transfer to the oven and bake for 10–14 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
-
Add Basil and Serve: Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil. Slice and serve warm.
