Almond Joy Oatmeal: A Healthy & Indulgent Breakfast Recipe

1 cup rolled oats
2 cups milk (or any dairy-free milk)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons shredded coconut
2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
Extra almonds, coconut, and chocolate chips for topping (optional)


Instructions

  • Cook the Oats: In a medium saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

  • Simmer and Stir: Reduce the heat to low and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats have absorbed the liquid and reached your desired consistency.

  • Add Sweetener and Flavor: Stir in maple syrup (or honey) and vanilla extract, adjusting sweetness to your liking.

  • Top the Oatmeal: Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in sliced almonds, shredded coconut, and mini chocolate chips.

  • Serve: Spoon the oatmeal into bowls and top with extra almonds, coconut, and chocolate chips for an added crunch and indulgent finish.
