Apple Crisp Cinnamon Roll Casserole Recipe: A Cozy, Sweet Delight

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

For the Cinnamon Rolls: 1 package (12 count) refrigerated cinnamon rolls

For the Apple Filling: 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

For the Crisp Topping: 1/2 cup rolled oats 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (Optional: 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans)

For the Glaze (optional): 1/2 cup powdered sugar 2 tablespoons milk 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cut the cinnamon rolls into quarters. Arrange the pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish with a slight overlap.

In a skillet over medium heat, combine the diced apples with lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the apples begin to soften. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the dish.

In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, melted butter, ground cinnamon, and nuts if using. Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the apple layer.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the topping is crisp and the rolls are baked through.

If desired, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the casserole after it has cooled for about 10 minutes.

Serve warm.
