Apple Fritter Cake

For the Cake:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2 cups apples, peeled & diced

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 23 tbsp milk

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8” baking dish.

  • In a skillet, cook apples with brown sugar and cinnamon until soft (5–7 minutes).

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter until combined.

  • Pour half the batter into the pan. Add half the apple filling. Repeat with remaining batter and apples.

  • Swirl slightly with a knife for a marbled look.

  • Bake 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

 

  • Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over warm cake.
