Black Forest Ice-Box Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 package chocolate wafer cookies (or chocolate graham crackers)

  • 1 can cherry pie filling (about 21 oz)

  • Fresh cherries & chocolate shavings (for garnish)


Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

  • Spread a thin layer of whipped cream on the bottom of a serving dish.

  • Add a single layer of chocolate wafers, then spread whipped cream over them.

  • Spoon a layer of cherry pie filling on top.

  • Repeat layers (cookies → whipped cream → cherries) until ingredients are used up, finishing with whipped cream on top.

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 4–6 hours (overnight is best) so the cookies soften.

  • Before serving, garnish with fresh cherries and chocolate shavings.

 

  • Slice, serve chilled, and enjoy!
