Ingredients

• 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

• 1 cup quick-cooking grits

• 4 cups water

• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

• 2 tbsp unsalted butter

• 1/2 cup heavy cream

• 2 tbsp olive oil

• 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

• 1/2 tsp garlic powder

• 1/4 tsp paprika

• Salt and pepper to taste

• 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

1. In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Slowly stir in the grits, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

2. Remove from heat, stir in butter, shredded cheddar, and heavy cream until creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and set aside.

3. In a bowl, toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.

5. Serve the shrimp over the creamy grits. Garnish with chopped green onions.
