  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

3 large sweet onions (like Vidalia), peeled and sliced into thick rings
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup crushed Ritz crackers (or similar buttery crackers)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

    • Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or similar sized casserole dish.

  • Prep the Onions:

    • Separate the onion slices into rings and place them in the baking dish.

    • Drizzle melted butter over the onions and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat.

  • Add the Cheese:

    • Sprinkle cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan evenly over the onions.

  • Top with Crackers:

    • Scatter crushed crackers over the top for a crunchy finish.

  • Bake:

    • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until onions are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly with a golden top.

  • Garnish and Serve:

    • Let cool slightly, then sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired.

    • Serve warm as a hearty side dish with grilled meats, barbecue, or holiday meals.
