Ingredients
For the Pastry:

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

½ cup cherry preserves or cherry pie filling

¼ cup sliced almonds

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
For the Cream Cheese Filling:

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp granulated sugar
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
For the Almond Glaze:

½ cup powdered sugar
-
1 tbsp milk
-
½ tsp almond extract
Instructions

Preheat & Prepare:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Cream Cheese Filling:

In a small bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Cut & Shape the Pastries:

Roll out puff pastry and cut into 4-6 squares.

Place a spoonful of cream cheese filling in the center of each square.

Add a spoonful of cherry preserves on top.

Fold the corners slightly toward the center or twist into pinwheel or braid shapes.

Bake the Pastries:

Brush edges with beaten egg.

Sprinkle with sliced almonds.

Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.

Make the Glaze & Serve:

Mix powdered sugar, milk, and almond extract to create a smooth glaze.

Drizzle over warm pastries before serving.
