Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta – Spicy, Savory, and Silky Smooth!

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced into thin strips)

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (store-bought or homemade)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Pasta & Sauce:

  • 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, penne, or linguine work best)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (more to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Chopped parsley or green onions (for garnish)


Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  • Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water.

Step 2: Cook the Cajun Chicken

  • Season chicken strips with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Sear chicken until golden and cooked through (about 4–5 minutes per side). Transfer to a plate and keep warm.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Cajun Sauce

  • In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds.

  • Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

  • Add Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, Cajun seasoning, and red pepper flakes.

  • Stir until smooth and slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning.

Step 4: Combine

  • Add cooked pasta and sliced chicken to the sauce. Toss well to coat.

  • Add a splash of reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.

  • Simmer for 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through and creamy.

Step 5: Serve

 

  • Plate and garnish with chopped parsley, green onions, and extra Parmesan.
