Creamy Cajun Chicken Shells: The Ultimate Comfort Food with a Kick

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (more to taste)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 8 oz medium pasta shells

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

Cook Chicken:
In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season diced chicken with Cajun seasoning and sauté until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Sauté Garlic & Add Shells:
In the same skillet, add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in pasta shells, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Bring to a boil.

Simmer:
Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce thickens.

Finish the Dish:
Stir in shredded cheese until melted and smooth. Return chicken to the skillet and mix to combine. Adjust seasoning with more Cajun spice, salt, or pepper if needed.

Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions. Serve hot and enjoy the spicy, creamy comfort of this Cajun-inspired pasta!
