Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Pasta Feast: A Bold, Spicy, and Comforting Dish

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz penne or fettuccine pasta

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced

  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning (plus more to taste)

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley and extra Parmesan, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Boil pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • Season the proteins: Toss sliced chicken and shrimp separately with Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt.

  • Sear the chicken and shrimp: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Sear chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside. Sear shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side, until pink. Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté vegetables: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic, bell pepper, and onion for 3–4 minutes, until softened.

  • Make the sauce: Lower heat to medium, stir in cream and chicken broth. Simmer for 3–4 minutes, then add Parmesan. Stir until smooth and slightly thickened.

  • Combine: Return chicken, shrimp, and pasta to the skillet. Toss everything together and let it warm through for 2–3 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.

  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan. Serve hot and enjoy the spicy, creamy indulgence!
