Ingredients
- 1 pound (450g) potato gnocchi
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 ball burrata cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
-
Cook the Gnocchi: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the gnocchi according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
-
Prepare the Sauce: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
-
Simmer the Tomatoes: Pour in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
-
Make it Creamy: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Let it cook for 2 more minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
-
Combine with Gnocchi: Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 2 minutes, until heated through.
-
Add the Burrata: Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and place them over the gnocchi. Let it slightly melt into the sauce.
-
Serve: Garnish with fresh basil and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan. Serve immediately and enjoy!
