Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets Recipe: Quick, Healthy & Delicious

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Olive oil spray


Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken:
    Place chicken pieces in a bowl with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight).

  • Prepare the Coating:
    In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Coat the Chicken:
    Remove chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to coat.

  • Air Fry the Nuggets:
    Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with olive oil.
    Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.

 

  • Serve:
    Let cool slightly before serving. Serve with ketchup, ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.
