Crispy Honey-Glazed Shrimp Recipe: Sweet & Savory Delight

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • 2 large eggs (beaten)

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Honey Glaze:

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

For Garnish:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 green onions (sliced)


Instructions

  • Prepare the Shrimp:

    • Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

    • Dredge shrimp in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.

  • Fry the Shrimp:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.

    • Fry shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

    • Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  • Make the Honey Glaze:

    • In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes.

    • Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook until thickened.

 

  • Coat and Serve:

    • Toss crispy shrimp in the honey glaze until well coated.

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
