  • 1 lb large shrimp (shell-on, deveined)

  • ½ cup cornstarch

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp white pepper

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 1 small red chili (sliced, optional)

  • 2 green onions (chopped)

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)


Instructions

  • Prepare the Shrimp:

    • Rinse and pat the shrimp dry, keeping the shells on for extra crispiness.

  • Coat the Shrimp:

    • In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, white pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

    • Toss the shrimp in the mixture until evenly coated.

  • Fry the Shrimp:

    • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

    • Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

    • Remove and drain on paper towels.

  • Sauté Aromatics:

    • In the same pan, remove excess oil, leaving about 1 tbsp.

    • Sauté garlic, red chili, and green onions for 1 minute.

 

  • Final Toss & Serve:

    • Add the crispy shrimp back to the pan, tossing to coat in the aromatic mixture.

    • Drizzle with soy sauce if desired.
