4 ripe pears, halved and cored

3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

1 tablespoon melted butter

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Optional toppings: chopped pecans, Greek yogurt, granola, or vanilla ice cream
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.

Arrange the pear halves cut-side up in the prepared dish.

In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and salt.

Spoon the mixture evenly over the pears.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, basting once or twice during baking, until the pears are tender and golden.
