Garlic Butter Lobster Bites with Saffron Mash: A Luxurious Dinner Recipe

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Butter Lobster Bites:

  • 4 lobster tails (fresh or frozen)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)

  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

For the Saffron Mash:

  • 2 lbs potatoes (peeled and cubed)

  • 1 tbsp saffron threads

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Lobster Bites:

    • If using frozen lobster tails, thaw them by placing them in the refrigerator overnight or under cold running water for a quick thaw.

    • Cut the lobster tails in half lengthwise and remove the meat from the shells. Cut the lobster meat into bite-sized pieces.

  • Cook the Lobster:

    • In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

    • Add the lobster pieces to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until the lobster is opaque and cooked through.

    • Remove the lobster from the skillet and set aside.

  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

    • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

    • Stir in lemon juice and red pepper flakes (if using).

    • Return the cooked lobster bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce for about 2 minutes.

    • Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.

  • Prepare the Saffron Mash:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the cubed potatoes. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

    • While the potatoes are cooking, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water for 5 minutes to release their color and flavor.

    • Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the saffron water, butter, and heavy cream. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve:

    • Spoon the saffron mash onto plates.

    • Top with the garlic butter lobster bites and drizzle with the remaining garlic butter sauce from the skillet.

    • Garnish with extra fresh parsley for a pop of color.
