Ingredients
-
-
1/2 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
-
2 cups broccoli florets
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Honey Glaze:
-
1/4 cup honey
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce
-
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (or spicy brown mustard)
-
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Instructions
-
Steam the Broccoli:
In a microwave-safe bowl or steamer, cook broccoli until just tender, about 3–4 minutes. Set aside. -
Sear the Sausage:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Add sausage slices and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 4–5 minutes. Remove and set aside. -
Cook the Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil.
Season shrimp with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside. -
Make the Honey Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, mustard, vinegar, garlic, and red pepper flakes. -
Combine Everything:
Return sausage, shrimp, and broccoli to the skillet. Pour the honey glaze over everything.
Toss to coat and cook for 2–3 more minutes until heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Serve:
Serve hot over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
