Honey Lime Grilled Shrimp Skewers: A Perfect Sweet & Tangy Seafood Delight

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

  • 1 tsp lime zest

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, honey, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.

  • Marinate the Shrimp:

    • Place the shrimp in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them.

    • Toss to coat and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 1 hour (to avoid over-marinating).

  • Prepare the Skewers:

    • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15-20 minutes to prevent burning.

    • Thread the shrimp onto the skewers, about 4-5 shrimp per skewer.

  • Grill the Shrimp:

    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

    • Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are opaque and lightly charred.

  • Serve:

    • Remove the shrimp from the skewers and arrange them on a platter.

    • Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley and serve with lime wedges on the side.
