Honey Sriracha Sausage and Veggie Pasta Skillet: A Flavor-Packed One-Pan Wonder

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)

  • 1 lb sausage (Italian or spicy), sliced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 small zucchini, sliced

  • 1 small red onion, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 23 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or pasta cooking water

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional)

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)


Instructions

Cook Pasta:
Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.

Cook Sausage:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove sausage from skillet and set aside.

Sauté Veggies:
In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed. Add garlic, red onion, bell peppers, and zucchini. Cook until veggies are tender, about 5-6 minutes.

Make Sauce:
Return sausage to skillet. Stir in honey, sriracha, and chicken broth (or reserved pasta water). Mix well and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Combine:
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until well coated with sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

 

Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro and grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot.
