How to Make Perfect Baked Turkey Meatballs: A Healthy and Delicious Recipe

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian-style)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

Prepare Meatball Mixture:

In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), milk, and olive oil.

Mix until just combined (avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender).

Form Meatballs:

Using a spoon or your hands, shape the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs.

Place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake:

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

If desired, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for a golden-brown exterior.

Serve:

Enjoy with marinara sauce, pasta, rice, or in a sandwich.

Storage Tips:

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Freeze uncooked or cooked meatballs for up to 3 months.
