Homemade Easy Cheesy Pizza Pockets: A Quick and Delicious Snack

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade, if preferred)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup mini pepperoni slices (or chopped regular pepperoni)
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
Optional fillings: chopped bell peppers, cooked sausage, mushrooms, black olives
Optional for topping: grated Parmesan cheese, extra Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  • Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 6–8 equal rectangles or squares.

  • Fill the Pockets: Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce onto one half of each piece, leaving a border around the edges. Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and any optional fillings.

  • Seal the Edges: Fold the dough over to form a pocket. Press the edges with a fork to seal tightly. If needed, use a little water on the edges to help seal.

  • Season and Bake: Place the pockets on the baking sheet. Brush tops with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and optional Parmesan cheese.

  • Bake: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.

  • Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before serving. Serve with extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
