Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese – Crispy, Cheesy & Flavorful!

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Parmesan Filling:

1 cup cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie or leftover works well)

½ cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Sandwich:

4 slices thick-cut bread (Italian, sourdough, or Texas toast work best)

2 tablespoons butter, softened

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

½ cup shredded provolone cheese (or extra mozzarella)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken Parmesan Filling

In a bowl, mix shredded chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.

Step 2: Assemble the Grilled Cheese

Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle the buttered side with garlic powder and grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.

Place a slice of bread (buttered side down) on a flat surface.

Sprinkle mozzarella, Parmesan, and provolone cheese on top.

Add a layer of the chicken parmesan mixture over the cheese.

Sprinkle more cheese on top before placing the second slice of bread (buttered side up) on top.

Step 3: Grill the Sandwich

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and crispy.

Flip carefully and cook the other side until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is crispy.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

Remove from heat, let sit for a minute, then slice in half and enjoy!

Serving Suggestions

Pair with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

Serve with a fresh side salad or crispy fries.

Add fresh basil or a drizzle of balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
