Ingredients

2 large onions, cut into ½-inch thick rings and separated

10–12 mozzarella string cheese sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

2 tablespoons milk

2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
Prep Onion & Cheese Rings:
Choose large onion rings and insert mozzarella stick pieces into the center of each, trimming cheese as needed to fit snugly inside.
Freeze Rings:
Place prepared cheese-filled onion rings on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour to firm up.
Prepare Breading Station:
Place flour in one bowl. In a second bowl, whisk eggs with milk. In a third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Coat Rings:
Dip each frozen ring into flour, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs. For extra crunch, dip again in egg and breadcrumbs.
Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry onion rings in batches for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Serve:
Serve hot with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dip!
