Muffuletta Cheese Ball Recipe: A Savory, Creamy Appetizer for Any Occasion

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese

  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/3 cup chopped green olives

  • 1/3 cup chopped black olives

  • 1/3 cup chopped salami

  • 1/4 cup chopped roasted red peppers

  • 2 tbsp chopped pepperoncini (optional)

  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans or crushed crackers (for coating)

  • Crackers or crostini for serving


Instructions

  • Mix the Cheese Base:
    In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, provolone, and mozzarella until smooth.

  • Add the Flavor Mix-ins:
    Fold in green and black olives, salami, red peppers, pepperoncini, parsley, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  • Form the Cheese Ball:
    Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap. Shape into a ball and wrap tightly. Chill for at least 1 hour, or until firm.

  • Coat the Cheese Ball:
    Once firm, unwrap the cheese ball and roll in chopped pecans or crushed crackers to coat.

 

  • Serve:
    Place on a serving plate and serve with crackers, crostini, or sliced baguette.
