Old School Pizza Burgers

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 cup pepperoni, finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 4 hamburger buns (or split sandwich rolls)

  • Optional toppings: sliced black olives, sautéed onions, bell peppers, or extra cheese

Instructions

Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.

Add Flavor:
Stir in chopped pepperoni, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to blend the flavors.

Add Cheese:
Turn off heat and stir in shredded mozzarella until melted and gooey.

Assemble Burgers:
Place open-faced buns on a baking sheet. Spoon the meat mixture generously onto the bottom halves of each bun.

Broil:
Top with extra mozzarella if desired. Broil in the oven on high for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.

Serve:
Top with the other half of the bun or serve open-faced. Enjoy warm for a nostalgic, melty pizza-burger mash-up!
