  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

  • 2 bell peppers (red & green), sliced

  • 1 small onion, sliced

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Cooked rice, for serving

  • Sesame seeds & green onions, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a bowl, toss steak slices with cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add steak and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • Add remaining oil to the pan. Stir-fry bell peppers and onion for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.

  • Add garlic and ginger, stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Return steak to the pan.

  • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin (if using), and beef broth. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Serve hot over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
