Quick Cheese Bread Recipe: Easy, Savory, and Delicious Loaf

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of cheddar and mozzarella)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

 

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
    • Stir in the shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Mix Wet Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter.
  4. Combine & Transfer to Pan:

    • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined (do not overmix).
    • Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake the Bread:

    • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
    • Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
  6. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Slice and serve warm with butter or as a side to soups and salads.
