1 refrigerated pie crust (or homemade)

3 medium apples, thinly sliced

2 tbsp granulated sugar

2 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp flour (to coat apples)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tbsp coarse sugar (for sprinkling)

Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, toss apple slices with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.

Roll out pie crust on the baking sheet. Arrange apple mixture in the center, leaving about 2 inches around the edges.

Fold edges of crust over apples, pleating as needed to form a rustic shape.

Brush crust with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.

Bake for 35–40 minutes, until crust is golden and apples are tender.

Cool slightly, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
