Seafood Gratin with Mushrooms: A Creamy, Flavorful Seafood Dish Recipe

  • 300 g mixed seafood (shrimp, mussels, calamari)

  • 200 g mushrooms (sliced)

  • 1 onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 200 ml heavy cream (30%)

  • 100 ml white wine

  • 100 g Gruyère or Parmesan cheese (grated)

  • 1 tbsp flour

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

  • 50 g breadcrumbs

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a baking dish.

  • Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, sauté until soft.

  • Add mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.

  • Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Add the cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Stir in the seafood and cook for 2-3 minutes until just heated through. Remove from heat.

  • Transfer the mixture to the baking dish, sprinkle with cheese and breadcrumbs. Dot with the remaining butter.

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.

 

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
