Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita Recipe: A Sweet & Spicy Twist on a Classic Cocktail

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
1 small jalapeño, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
2 oz tequila (preferably blanco)
1 oz triple sec (or orange liqueur)
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon agave syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
Ice
Salt or chili-salt mixture for rimming the glass (optional)
Lime wedges and extra jalapeño slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass: If desired, rim your glass with salt or chili-salt mixture. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip into the salt mixture.

  • Make the Strawberry Jalapeño Puree: In a blender, combine fresh strawberries, jalapeño slices, and agave syrup (or honey). Blend until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother drink.

  • Mix the Margarita: In a cocktail shaker, add the strawberry-jalapeño puree, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and a handful of ice. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

  • Serve: Strain the margarita into the prepared glass filled with ice.
