1 pound fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake (cut into cubes)

2 cups heavy whipping cream

¼ cup powdered sugar

8 oz cream cheese (softened)

1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)

½ cup strawberry jam (optional)
Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries:

In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and vanilla extract.

Let them sit for 10-15 minutes to release their natural juices.

Make the Whipped Cream:

In a large bowl, beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Set aside.

Prepare the Cream Filling:

In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.

Fold in the prepared vanilla pudding, then gently fold in half of the whipped cream.

Assemble the Trifle:

In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer ⅓ of the cake cubes at the bottom.

Add a layer of the cream mixture, followed by a layer of strawberries.

Drizzle a little strawberry jam if using.

Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.
