  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries (hulled and sliced)

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 prepared pound cake or angel food cake (cut into cubes)

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

  • 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)

  • ½ cup strawberry jam (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Strawberries:

    • In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and vanilla extract.

    • Let them sit for 10-15 minutes to release their natural juices.

  • Make the Whipped Cream:

    • In a large bowl, beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

    • Set aside.

  • Prepare the Cream Filling:

    • In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.

    • Fold in the prepared vanilla pudding, then gently fold in half of the whipped cream.

  • Assemble the Trifle:

    • In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer ⅓ of the cake cubes at the bottom.

    • Add a layer of the cream mixture, followed by a layer of strawberries.

    • Drizzle a little strawberry jam if using.

    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream on top.

  • Chill & Serve:

    • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors meld.

    • Garnish with extra strawberries before serving.
