Sweet and Spicy Honey Garlic Wings Recipe: Perfectly Crispy and Flavorful

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (drums and flats)

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (for extra crispiness)

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

For the Sauce:

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra spice)


Instructions

  • Preheat & Prepare the Wings:

    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or place a wire rack over it for extra crispiness.

  • Season the Wings:

    • In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.

  • Bake the Wings:

    • Arrange the wings on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.

    • Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.

  • Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

    • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    • Stir in honey, soy sauce, sriracha, ketchup, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.

    • Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  • Coat the Wings:

    • Remove wings from the oven and toss them in the sweet and spicy sauce until fully coated.

 

  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.

    • Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side.
