For the Brownie Layer:

¼ cup granulated sugar

½ cup brown sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda
-
¼ tsp salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Prepare Brownie Batter

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla.

Stir in cocoa, flour, and salt until combined.

Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
2. Prepare Cookie Dough

In another bowl, cream the softened butter with sugars until light and fluffy.

Mix in the egg and vanilla.

Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.

Fold in chocolate chips.
3. Assemble Brookies

Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough evenly over the brownie batter.

Gently press them down slightly without fully covering the brownie layer.
4. Bake

Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
