The Ultimate Guide to Making the Perfect Peach Cobbler at Home

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned, drained)

  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. Prepare Peaches:
In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix gently and set aside.

2. Make Batter:
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in milk until smooth.

3. Melt Butter:
Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish.

4. Assemble Cobbler:
Pour batter over the melted butter but do not stir. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter—do not mix.

5. Bake:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

6. Serve:
Let cool slightly before serving. Delicious on its own or topped with vanilla ice cream!
