1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

4 slices provolone cheese (or more to taste)

4 hoagie rolls or sub buns

1 tablespoon butter (optional, for toasting buns)
Instructions
1. Cook the veggies:

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil.

Add sliced peppers and onions. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until softened.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Remove from skillet and set aside.
2. Brown the beef:

In the same skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula.

Drain excess grease if needed.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (if using).
3. Combine & melt the cheese:

Return sautéed peppers and onions to the skillet with the beef.

Stir to combine, then top with provolone cheese slices.

Cover skillet with a lid and let cheese melt over the mixture (about 1–2 minutes).

Stir gently to combine.
4. Prepare the rolls:

Lightly butter the insides of the hoagie rolls (optional) and toast them in a pan or oven until golden.
5. Assemble the sandwiches:

Spoon the cheesy ground beef mixture into the toasted buns.

Serve hot with chips, fries, or a fresh green salad.
