24 Medjool dates, pitted

12 slices of bacon, cut in half

(Optional) Soft cheese (goat cheese, blue cheese, or cream cheese) or whole almonds or pecans

Toothpicks (soaked in water for 10 minutes)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

Pit the dates (if not already pitted) by slicing lengthwise and removing the seed.

Optional stuffing: Fill each date with about 1 teaspoon of cheese or one nut, then gently close the date.

Wrap with bacon: Wrap each date with a half-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

Bake for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway through, until bacon is crispy and browned.

Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
