Baked Lemon Garlic Cod: A Simple & Flavorful Seafood Recipe

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tsp lemon zest

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • Lemon slices (for serving)


Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

    • Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  • Prepare the Lemon Garlic Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix olive oil, melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  • Season the Cod:

    • Pat the cod fillets dry with a paper towel.

    • Place them in the prepared baking dish and brush or drizzle the lemon garlic sauce evenly over each fillet.

  • Bake the Cod:

    • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

    • If desired, broil for an additional 2 minutes to give the top a golden color.

 

  • Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon slices on the side.

    • Pair with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
