Cheesy Stuffed Mozzarella Onion Rings Recipe: Crispy, Gooey, and Irresistible

  • 2 large onions (cut into thick rings)

  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese (cut into strips)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs (beaten)

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • Oil for frying


Instructions

  • Prepare the Onion Rings:

    • Separate onion rings and match similar-sized pairs.

    • Place a mozzarella strip between two onion rings, pressing them together.

  • Coat the Onion Rings:

    • Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and mix panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.

    • Coat each stuffed onion ring in flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat for extra crispiness.

  • Fry the Onion Rings:

    • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).

    • Fry the rings in batches until golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes per side).

    • Drain on paper towels.

 

  • Serve:

    • Enjoy hot with marinara sauce, ranch, or your favorite dip.
