Classic Beef Meatloaf: The Ultimate Comfort Food Recipe You’ll Love

  • Author: Hannah

Ingredients

  • – 1 ½ lbs ground beef

  • – 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • – 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • – 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • – 1 large egg

  • – 1/2 cup milk

  • – 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • – 1 tablespoon ketchup

  • – 1 teaspoon dried parsley

  • – 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • – 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Glaze:

  • – 1/3 cup ketchup

  • – 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • – 1 teaspoon mustard

  • – 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a loaf pan.

  • Mix the Meatloaf:
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire, ketchup, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined — do not overmix.

  • Form the Loaf:
Shape the mixture into a loaf shape and place it on the prepared baking sheet, or press it into a loaf pan.

  • Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, stir together glaze ingredients: ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire.

  • Top and Bake:
Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven, spread the remaining glaze, and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  • Rest & Serve:
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a full classic meal! 😋
