Ingredients
-
▪️ 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts), softened
-
▪️ 1 cup cherry pie filling (homemade or canned)
-
▪️ 1 egg (for egg wash)
-
▪️ 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
-
▪️ 1 tbsp coarse sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
-
▪️ Powdered sugar or icing (optional, for drizzle)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a round cutter or glass to cut out 2.5 to 3-inch circles.
-
Spoon about 1 tsp of cherry pie filling into the center of half the circles.
-
Top with another dough circle and use a fork to seal the edges. You can also crimp the edges for a pretty look!
-
In a small bowl, whisk the egg and milk to make an egg wash. Brush it over each pie bite.
-
Cut a tiny slit on top of each for steam to escape, then sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
-
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.
-
Let cool slightly, then drizzle with icing or dust with powdered sugar if you like! 😋
