Delicious Spring Onion and Bacon Quiche Recipe: Perfect for Brunch & More

1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup spring onions (green onions), sliced
1 cup shredded Gruyère or Swiss cheese
4 large eggs
1 cup half-and-half or whole milk
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork. Pre-bake for 8–10 minutes.

  • In a skillet, sauté spring onions in a bit of bacon fat or butter for 2–3 minutes until softened.

  • In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

  • Sprinkle cooked bacon, sautéed onions, and shredded cheese evenly in the crust.

  • Pour egg mixture over the filling.

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is just set and the top is lightly golden.

 

  • Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
