Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry in Garlic Sauce – Quick & Flavorful Recipe

For the Stir Fry:

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 cups broccoli florets

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for flavor)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

For the Garlic Sauce:

¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce

½ cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, for depth of flavor)

1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water to make a slurry)

For Garnish:

1 tablespoon sesame seeds

2 green onions, sliced


Instructions

Prepare the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, broth, oyster sauce, honey (or brown sugar), and rice vinegar. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.

Cook the Shrimp and Broccoli:

Heat olive oil and sesame oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.

Add shrimp, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from pan and set aside.

In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed and stir-fry broccoli for 3-4 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Add a splash of water if needed to help it cook.

Make the Garlic Sauce:

Push the broccoli to one side of the pan and add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Pour in the sauce and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Combine and Serve:

Add the cooked shrimp back into the pan and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.

Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
