Simple Garlic Parmesan Orzo – An Easy Weeknight Dinner

  • 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional for creamier texture)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  • Stir in orzo and cook for 2–3 minutes until lightly toasted.

  • Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 10 minutes.

  • Stir in Parmesan cheese (and heavy cream if using).

  • Season with salt & pepper to taste.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley.

 

  • Serve warm and enjoy a quick, comforting dinner!
