1 lb ground beef

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional for extra depth)

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

2 green onions, chopped

1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)

Cooked white or jasmine rice, for serving

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease.

Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce (if using), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.

Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.

Remove from heat and stir in chopped green onions.

Serve over a bed of warm rice, topped with sesame seeds if desired.
