Ingredients

For the Topping:

🍶 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

🍪 6 shortbread cookies or golden Oreos (crushed, optional for garnish)
Instructions

Bake the cake in a 9×13-inch pan according to box directions. Let it cool for 10 minutes.

Make the Jell-O: In a bowl, dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Stir in cold water.

Poke the cake: Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a straw to poke holes all over the cake.

Pour the Jell-O evenly over the cake, letting it seep into the holes. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Top it off: Spread whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
