While the pasta cooks, prepare the chicken in a large skillet.
Add the ranch dressing mix, softened cream cheese, and chicken broth to the skillet.
Once the chicken is fully cooked, shred it directly in the skillet.
Add the cooked penne to the chicken mixture and stir well.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the sliced green onions.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
Serve hot, garnished with the remaining green onions.
