  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 vanilla bean split and scraped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, vanilla bean seeds, cinnamon, and salt.
Cooking
  1. Add the bread cubes to the egg mixture and gently fold until well combined. Let it sit for 15 minutes to soak.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Finishing and Serving
  1. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving with maple syrup and powdered sugar.

Notes
