Fatteh (Pita, hummus, and yogurt) made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 4 large pita breads
  • 2 cups hummus
  • 2 cups plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Paprika for garnish

Instructions

  • Toast the pita breads until golden and crisp.
  • Cut the toasted pita into bite-sized pieces.
  • Mix the hummus with ground cumin and salt.
  • Layer the pita pieces in a serving dish.
  • Spread the seasoned hummus evenly over the pita.
  • Top with a generous layer of yogurt.
  • In a small pan, heat olive oil and sauté pine nuts until golden brown.
  • Drizzle the sautéed pine nuts and olive oil over the yogurt layer.
