Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add chopped onions and sauté until they are translucent.
Stir in minced garlic, cooking for another minute.
Add the sausage to the pot, breaking it up as it cooks.
Stir in diced potatoes and pour in the chicken broth.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
Stir in the heavy cream and chopped kale, cooking for a few more minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve warm.
